The park is located in an area rich in fossils which characterizes the village of Roncà. It is at the foot of Monte Calvarina, a mountain resulting from an ancient volcano which, during the Eocene epoch, poured flows, ashes and lapilli in the seabeds of a hot tropical sea. At present the several streams flowing towards the plain, erode the rocks bringing to light beautiful fossils which create a flourishing, natural environment. This territory is characterized by high impact intensive cultivations such as vineyards and orchards which represent an important shelter for all the plants and animals surviving in this environment between the southern extent of Lessinia and the plain.
